Livity International Sound System is dedicated to the upliftment of all hearts and minds "Reggaematically". Having loved Reggae music since 1972 when introduced to two awesome songs by Jimmy Cliff "The Harder They Come" and "Many Rivers To Cross" Livity has always stayed true to the Roots Foundation of this genre. With the amalgamation of the words LOVE and UNITY the sound name "Livity International" was chosen to represent the true nature of this Sound System. Providing the best of the UK and JA Sound System experience (old and new). Livity International is the sound system of the future, there are no CDs and no Vinyl at a Livity "all-digital" session. This allows the sound system to meet most requests for any Roots Reggae song on-demand and without the labour suffered by other traditional sound systems. Co-founder of the USA Reggae Roots & Dub Expo which includes other sound systems on the East and West Coast of America. Also co-founder of the "Totally Conscious Collective" which includes the following Roots Reggae Sound Systems and Artists (Livity International, Fasimbas, WildFiyah Rootikal and I-Warriyah (currently with King Alpha Sound System in the UK). Livity International is Empress Abi aka "Abigene" and Livity. Now residing in Grand Bay Commonwealth of Dominica, Livity International continues to unite the world through music. |

Dj xcel was born Edward Hines April 11th 1978 and comes from Staten Island, New York. I started djing at the tender age of 6yrs old; my brother was a dj back in the late 70’s & 80’s. He would sneak me out the house and bring me along when it was time for him to do a party. I would get my practice time in when my brother was away at college. He would come home on the weekends to get ready for a party and see that his needles were broken, it didn’t take much time for him to figure out I was the one breaking the needles, he would be mad but it was a good type of mad because he seen that I was interested at such a young age. I would practice for hours and hours and as the years went by I was like ok its time to go out and see what I have now. I did my first party when I was 10, which my brother and one of my older cousins who also a dj helped out and stayed with me while I was out late. As I went to school, I became popular with kids from different neighborhoods and when it was time for birthday parties I was the man. My high school years were the best time when I did parties, I had a big sound system and I also had a big crew that rolled with me to come along to the parties to help carry the equipment. I would dj parties in every borough of New York for all different types of crowds and age groups. I had the opportunity to leave New York and dj in other states and I loved the experience of meeting new people. As I became older and wiser I started to take my dj knowledge and past it along to any one who wanted to learn the craft. So all and all I’ve been doing this for 27 years and I’m still learning new things along the way. Contact DJ Xcel Email: xcel23@hotmail.com Facebook: www.facebook.com/ehines1 Skype: djxcel1978 |
